Boss Information / Strategy

==========================================

Darkswordsman Jr.

HP: ???
Location: MP Campus/Hole, PHNX Campus/Hole, SG Campus
Skills: X-Strike, Dual Slash, Kick Slash, Jumping Slash
Respawn Time: Around 1hr Real Time

Strategy:

Simple one really. Just have a HP of about 400 and your good to go. He's really slow on attacking so his skills
tend to get cancelled easily.

Ethreal Fist

HP: ???
Location: MP Hole, PHNX Hole, SG Hole
Skills:
Respawn Time: Around 2hrs Real Time

Strategy:

One strategy is to have an HP of above 800+ because if he hits critical he dishes out that amount of dmg,
you wouldn't want to get kill by 1 hit do you? S

o hunt him if ur HP is above that mark for the tanker of course.
A must for hunting this boss is to preferably have an electric based weapon, doesn't matter if it's weaker than
the one your using as long as it's electric. It grealty slows him down, which makes you use less pots.

Darkswordsman

HP: ???
Location: SG Hole Only
Skills: Crit Slash, Hurricane Slash, Jumping Slash
Respawn Time: Around 2hrs Real Time

Strategy:

Hp of 750+ is recommended if your going to tank him. Same as the EF tactic use elecs and just watch out for that crit slash.

Here's a party based strategy for hunting him early on, You must be at the SG ring for this to work or bring him there.
Have one character hit him and let him follow, now circle around the pavilion in the middle of the SG ring.
If he switches targets, just run around and so on.
He'll go down in a few hits. This is very possible at Lvl 47. So hunt early.

Ninja Knife

HP: ???
Location: SG Hole Only
Skills: Lightning Slash, Explosive Strike, Sunken Strike
Respawn Time: Around 2hrs Real Time

Strategy:

Just have an HP at around 800+ He's quick to dish out skills so watch out.
One thing to watch out is after he hits you with numerous strikes using Lightning Slash, he'll follow it up with Sunken Strike.
So pots ahead when he hits you with lightning strike, Same as always use an Electric element weapon to slow him down.
He's much harder to bring down than EF and Ds maybe because he's a dex based boss I guess.

Cruel Jupiter

HP: ???
Location: Practice Yard
Skills: Engulf, Chi Finger Blast
Respawn Time: 6hrs Real Time

Strategy:

I'd recommend a party of 4-5 Members. No electric/ice elements this time, because it'll destroy the Luring Pattern.

The most important part is using only Int Skills! So that CJ will not switch his target. Oh btw shockwave is the only int based attack that will make him change targets.

The best strategy to go by is having one person circle about while other members pelt him with int attacks.
Yes that's all there is to it. You could start hunting him with a party of lvl 47 characters it'll just take longer.

Now for the lurer here's the trick for keeping him off your tail.
Do you see those Circle Stone Slabs on the ground?
Use those four circles as points. That's the radius that you must be encircling to not get hit.
Do not run around in a big circle because CJ tends to catch up if he is not turning.
Hence that's why the radius should be small.

The dificulty is keeping those noobs away, for one they wouldn't know that int skills are the only skills that should be used, and you can't PK them so that's a bother. Have Fun.

He drops around 200k per kill, see he's the easiest boss to find, kill, rewarding if you do it right. ^__^

Oblivion Potion FAQ

Oblivion Potion FAQ

  1. What is an oblivion potion?
Oblivion potion is a consumable item that allows the resetting of stats and/or skills thus allowing the player to redistribute the stat and skill points.
  1. What are the types of oblivion potion?
There are 4 types of oblivion potion. These are Oblivion Potion A, B, C, and D.
  1. How does each one differ from each other?
Oblivion Potion A only resets all skill points. Oblivion Potion B resets 30 stat points plus all skill points. Oblivion Potion C resets 60 stat points plus all skill points. Oblivion Potion D resets 90 stat points plus all skill points.
  1. How do I use an oblivion potion?
Oblivion potion is like a normal potion, you just need to right click the potion and it will do the rest.
  1. How many skill points does the oblivion potion reset?
Oblivion potion A and B will reset all skills back to level 1 thus allowing the player to redistribute the skill points
  1. How does the oblivion potion reset my skills?
Upon using the oblivion potion, all skills will disappear. You have to learn the skills again. The skills will turn into spirtual sphere which you can exchange to your respective trainers for skills scrolls. Be sure you have enough inventory space to accomodate the spiritual spheres or else you won't be able to use the oblivion potion
  1. How many stat points does the oblivion potion reset?
Oblivion Potion A does not reset any stat points. Oblivion Potion B will reset 30 stat points. Oblivion Potion C will reset 60 stat points. Oblivion Potion D will reset 90 stat points.
  1. How does the oblivion potion reset my skills?
I will use Oblivion potion B as an example. Oblivion potions will only reset the added points per stat not the base stat value. Oblivion potion B can only reset 30 stat points. Stat point reset is done equally on all stats. There are 5 stats. An average of 6 points for each stat will be removed and be made available for redistribution (5 stats x 6pts = 30 stat pts). If a stat has less than 6 points, the remaining is subtracted from the other skills with stat that are more than 6
Ex.
Before Oblivion Potion After Oblivion Potion
Pow 10 (+5) Pow 10
Dex 10 (+5) Dex 10
Spi 10 (+5) Spi 10
Vit 10 (+20) Vit 10 (+10)
Stm 10 (+5) Stm 10
Pow is only 5 pts, all 5 pts will be removed. Since 6 is required for each stat, the remaining will be deducted from the stat with the most stat points. Since the other stats have only 5 points with the exception of Vit (20). All stats with 5 points will be removed and the remaining will be deducted from Vit. Vit will become +10 after the stat reset ((20 – 6) – 4) = 10. All in all, 30 stat points should be made available for redistribution.
Before Oblivion Potion After Oblivion Potion
Pow 10 (+7) Pow 10 (+1) or 0
Dex 10 (+6) Dex 10
Spi 10 (+20) Spi 10 (+14) or +13
Vit 10 (+20) Vit 10 (+14) or +13
Stm 10(+5) Stm 10
Initially 6 will be deducted from each stat. Since Stm is only 5 we have 1 pt remaining. That 1 pt can go to pow or spi or vit. Since that have more than 6 pts.
Before Oblivion Potion After Oblivion Potion
Pow 10 Pow 10
Dex 10 (+20) Dex 10 (+5)
Spi 10 (+300) Spi 10 (+285)
Vit 10 Vit 10
Stm 10 Stm 10
Since there are only 2 stats with plus points. 15 points will be deducted to dex and spi.
(30 / no of stats with plus points) = deduction per stat. After using the potion dex will only be (20- 15= 5) and spi will be (300 -15 = 285)
  1. Can I choose what stat it resets and how many points?
No, The game does the resetting for you, there is no user intervention when resetting the skill.
  1. Do I need to purchase or buy scrolls after I reset my skills?
If the scrolls used were exchanged for spiritual spheres (acquired from quests), NO. You will get spiritual spheres right after you reset your skills to exchange them again for new skill scrolls.
If the scrolls used were bought from NPC, YES. You need to buy again new scrolls.
  1. How many oblivion potions do I get when I buy from the item shop?

DEX BRAWLER basic build [until 107]

DEX BRAWLER basic build [until 107]

Dex brawlers have been known as the one's that you never do 1 on 1's with. They possess skills that specializes in eliminating adversaries one by one by utilizing their skills that execute at a very fast rate and their delay is almost unnoticeable. Speed is the forte of this class but this comes at a price. We[ i address as such because i am also a dex brawler ] are the one class that deals the lowest damage output per hit when compared to all the other classes. But dont let this be a bother because we are primarily used in a party as "lurers" and "tanks" so we are quite important in our party because what's the use of having so many killers if they cant find something to kill? Anyways, enough with the chit-chat and let's get down to business.
The Basics
Basically [ redudant, i know ], i wont teach you the very basic aspects of the game assuming that you already know it. What im going to write is what are the things that a dex brawler should do when in a party, when pk'ing, when luring, etc. Im not saying that you should do this and you should do that, its your choice really, im just guiding you here ^^. anyway, here are the advantages and disadvantages of dex brawlers:

disadvantages of a dex brawler:
1. tibag ng dex archer [ due to low accuracy ]
2. low damage [ average damage of skills on monsters = 900 ]
3. average hp [ swordsmen has higher hp ]
4. low MP [ geez! 150 mp pots per hour! ]
5. expensive weapons [ a good weapon costs a million or so ]
6. no mob skills until lvl 67 [ tokkan punch only hits 2 targets ] 7. has a hard time dealing with many enemies in pk [ dex brawler skills are made to kill one person at a time ]

advantages:
1. High defense [ rivaled only by an int swordsman ]
2. high evasion [ rivaled only by a dex archer ]
3. high stamina [ i dun need sp pots anymore when i solo ]
4. IMHO the best 1 v 1 character [ try dueling with a mastered deadly seven ^^ ]
5. very fast delay when using skills [ you can use all your skills and make it look lika a 1 skill only due to its speed ]
6. has the greatest[IMO] cancel skill in ran = deadly seven [ 0.3 second delay per hit, 56% chance to faint, which stops movement ]
7. great character in later lvls [ 97+ ]
8. fast cooldown of skills [ average cooldown of skills from heavy punch to deadly seven = 5 seconds ]

Now that you know what are the pros and cons of Dex type, i assume that you noticed that this class is not for those who want to deal massive damage against the enemy but rather this is for people who want their characters as teh "ultimate defensive" characters [wow, i said ultimate]. Why so? We aren't necessarily mob killers due to our very low damage output but we compensate that for a very high defense and a very high evasion[provided that you use dynamic armors instead of enhanced ones]. We are considered the best lurers in RAN because we can easilly negate damage from mobs and even if they do damage, they wont necessarily hit as often as the other classes[except for a dex archer].

Skills
a. heavy punch - basically your defense against pk [ 66% chance to cancel when mastered ]. This will be your bread and butter along with tokkan punch in the early levels [ does 200 - 500 damage early on ]
b. tokkan punch - one of the lesser skills, but good early game as it is your first mob skill [ which hits only 2 targets -_-" but can reach 1000 damage when buffed ]
c. mirage - does wonders when used with an electric weapon. It's the first skill that hits in multiple succession[ three times ]
d. kick punch - first "real" mob skill, useful because of your limited mob skills. This skill will be improtant in your mid levels when you really need a mob skill to eliminate mobs.
e. crit punch - a great mob skill, but has a slow cast time [ your first skill that can actually deal over 1000 damage ]. This skill can be a "one-shot" skill in pk due to its concentrated damage.
f. shintendouchi - a great mob skill with an average cooldown, has a 30% chance to burn and cancel [ can reach 2700 damage when berserked nad powered up]. Declare yourself a mob killer when you get this. LOL
g. deadly seven - a very essential skill for a dex brawler especially in pk, has a 56% chance to faint [ stunning movement and quite better than cancel ]. when used with powerup, berserk, and bloodlust, it can deal over 4000 damage when totalled.
can deal over 1000 damage in pk when used with similar buffs. This skill will be the thing that can make you indestructible in pk, it hits seven times, its makes enemies faint, what's not to love? =)
h. Force Punch - a powerful skill that hits 9 targets when mastered and has a relatively fast cooldown, which makes it another great skill to master. Currently it is the only dex brawler skill that can deal over 2000 damage without buffs [ my F. Punch does 2100+ ]. When powered up, berserked, and added with bloodlust, it can deal for about 1100 - 1300 damage in PK[ yes, it will be a one shot skill ] or if you are a hybrid[with power kick], it can deal for about 1500++, woot!
i. Dance of the Warrior - I saw this skill and i was disappointed. It has 5 hits and for about 130-200 damage each in pk, i cant say it can be a killer skill. But IMHO this is the most impressive visual skill i ever saw, better than the dance of death ^^. It deals about 400-600 damage on mobs and hits 9 targets.
What's hot and what's not
what skills to master:
1. heavy punch - lvl 4 is enough, as it has a 50% chance to cancel and you only need to meet the requirements
2. tokkan punch - just get it to lvl 4 so you can attain the neccesary requirements for the nex skill
3. mirage - just get it to lvl 3 because you will amost never use it later in the game.
4. kick punch - if you are a slow lvler i suggest mastering this one [has a 4 second cooldown when mastered]
5. crit punch - same description with kick punch
6. shintendouchi - master this because you will be basically use this skill until you are lvl 200 ]
7. deadly seven/sensrethshuken - if you like pk master this one[if you are 117 try using the skill points to force punch instead
8. fist mastery - master this one, as it increases your damage by 50 when masterd [attainable by lvl 100]
9. evasive dance - a must. this will be your bread and butter as dex brawlers rely on their brute defense and evasion to survive
10. evasion - just like evasive dance, this skill increases your defense and evasion by percentage, which is good.
11. weapon mastery - a no no as of the moment. it only increases 10 damage when mastered, and IMO a waste of valuable skill points
12. Lightspeed - if you are a fast lvler, i suggest you lvl this up too.
13. Dance of the Warrior - no idea yet. i havent got it yet
14. Force Punch - a must[dont master deadly seven if you already have this one]. But this skills requires good timing because it only hits the line in which you have used your skill.

what you armors should you take?

Basically dex brawlers should own armors that are "dynamic"[preferably with a high RV] because they increase evasion, which helps you a lot. In my opinion, when you dont have enough cash, dont invest on upgrading your weapon because that would only have a little effect on how much damage you can deal. Instead, upgrade your armors to at least +4[or if you feel lucky, try +5] because once youre defense reaches 200+, you can be an effective lurer and a great tank because it mixes up with your evasion, which roks.
Which accessories should you take?

For rings, I really suggest getting the lvl 120 jade ring or the lvl 80 as it adds dex which helps quite a lot. If you are a defensive type try acquiring shen mo rings, they add 5hp and 5 defense and costs around 600-750k at the strife server. For rosaries, x2 rosaries[lol], if you dont use those, try using...errr.... give me advice on this please, i dont know much about the other rosaries haha. As for earring, aluminum earrings would be nice :D

Where to lvl?
1 - 30
Inside the Campus would be a starting point, then try to work your way up to lvl 30 before even attempting to go out [ blood drinkers hurt! ]
31 - 62
MP, SG, and PHX hole are ok places to lvl up, provided that you take caution when lvling in server 0 as intermittent invaders come and go [ including us :D ]
63 - 73
Leonine Campus, at the mummy and tombraider areas by the stairs, but be sure to come early, as this spot is a "hot spot", which means it is in demand and therefore, competition arises.
74 - 90
Inside the leonine campus. 1st floor is good if you your parties' lvl is relativley low [74-80]. B1 is good if you have a good defense rate [ oh, dex brawlers have good defenses, i forgot -_- ]. B2 is good if you know the lvling points :D. Carpark area is a good place to lvl also, because it has a lot of MOBS.
90 - 117
Wharf! a great place to lvl even if you are 130+, but lvling spots are hard to come by at this area, and at server 0, it looks like a warzone with MP and SG fighting for dominance [ SG RULEZZ ]
117 - 119

:: Full Support Shaman Guide ::

:: Full Support Shaman Guide ::

I. Introduction

I usually don't post in forums (This is actually my first) but because of the jumbled up topics in this forum I thought of making my own compilation of the posts in this forum.
My very own character in RAN is also a shaman that I aspire to be a full support type.
So... on with the topic...

II. Stat Build

Levels 1-100 :
This is easy :P because all you need to do is pump up all those stats to INT or in your skill window: SPI so that you could get all the skills needed by an FS without worrying about the required stat points.

Levels 101-... :
Upon reaching this level bracket you should allocate your remaining stat points to POW(power) or STR(strength) to get the skill Gift of Life. (This is found at the POW skills tab in your skill window).

Levels ...-... : (NOTE: Sorry I don't know the exact level to master the skill: Gift of Life)
Upon getting at least 160 POW to master the Gift of Life skill, pump up your VIT(vitality) next to boost up your HP(hit points) more. VIT boosts up your HP by 3 every point(a 1:3 ratio).
Imagine this: 100VIT = 300HP nice :)
DEX(dexterity) only boosts up your DEF(defense) by 1 by 10 DEX(a 10:1 ratio) so it only pumps up your DEF only a little bit. Imagine this: 100DEX = 10DEF not rewarding isn't it?

III. Skill Build

(NOTE: This is the part where I scavenged almost every post to get reliable data XP .)

Level 1-76:
  • Vampiric Attack - Level 3
  • Breath of Life - Level 4 (Self-heal, can recover HP on items)
  • Sacrificial Ritual - Level 3 (Serves as a prerequisite for your Heaven's Treatment skill)
  • Inspire - Level 2
  • Fortify - Master at level 10 (Gives 10% DEF, results are best seen on high DEF characters)
  • Arcane Recovery - NA (MP or mana point regenerator, can recover MP on items)
  • Enchaned Vampiric Attack - NA (Spear Guardian is better)
  • Revitalize - Level 7 (Prevents Poison at level 7 no need to master)
  • Haste - NA
  • Heaven's Treatment - Master at level 10 (Party heal, a must have)

Level 77-107:
  • Confusion Strike - Master at level 10 (Boosts evasiveness, a must have)
  • Haste - Level 3 (Prerequisite for Massive Haste)
  • Massive Haste - Master at level 10 (For escaping or chasing opponents)
  • Berserk Aura - Master at level 10 (Faster attack speed

Level 108-147:
  • Inspire - Level 4 (Fast SP or skill point regeneration at Level 4 no need to recast over and over)
  • Magma Explosion - Level 1 (1000DMG or damage on mobs)
  • Resurrection - Master at level 1 (Player still lose EXP or experience)
  • Spear Guardian's Wrath - Master at level 10 (Attack skill)
  • Gift of Life - Master at level 10 (Get from the POW tab at your skill window)
  • Paralyzed - NA (No damage only makes your opponent immobile get at your own desire)

IV. Tips and Tricks

Leveling a pure FS shaman is a great pain and requires big amounts of patience.
When you are havig a hard time, you can do these tips:
    1. Have other players tank you. (a friend's help is also nice)

    2. Add skills on your ATTACK tab on your skill window. Then, use Oblivion A potions afterwards.

V. Disclaimer

All of these information are acquired by browsing in posts at the Philippine RAN forums and english Malaysian RAN forums.
All suggestions, scrutinizations and comments are all accepted.
Painstakingly corrected spelling errors. Comment if any still remain.
Might still edit this guide for it to be eye entertaining but I'm tired so I only got to place green colors. :P
Might also add picture clips of skills for added info and judgement.
I wish the GM's to pin this so that the other newbies would not have a hard time finding this. Thanks in advance. :)

All About RV's & Stats: A Mini Guide v1.4 (7/24/06)

All About RV's & Stats: A Mini Guide v1.4 (7/24/06)

Inde sa over all attack and defense mo. Malaki pinagkaiba nun.
Weapon attack:
Lite sync bow na 53 - 58 atk +114 energy value +4.39% RV
51 - 56 atk +110 energy value yung nasa NPC for the baseline atk & energy value.
calculation:
51 x 0.0439 = 2.23
56 x 0.0439 = 2.45
magiging 53.23 - 58.45 or 53 - 58 ang attack ng bow.
110 x 0.0439 = 4.829
200 + 1.18 = 201.18 or 201 ang total RV.
Can someone clarify this? Baka may alam kayo about atk & def practice.
The higher the + or - RV meaning yung extremes nila like +4.99 and -4.99 RV, mas mataas ang bigay na stat.
Pow= +1 Melee per +5 or +6 Pow; +1 Missile per +12 or +13 Pow
Dex = +1 Def per +12 or +13 Dex; +1 Missile & +1 Energy Value per +5 Dex; +1 Melee per +8 or +9 Dex
Int = +1 or +2 MP per +1 Int; +1 Energy Value per +3 or +4 Int
Vit = +1 or +2 HP per +1 Vit
Stm = +1 SP per +1 Stm
Melee - close combat damage
Missile - long range attack damage
Elemental resistance - resistance mo against magical attacks.
Magical based attacks do not miss.
Accuracy - rate to successfully hit an enemy. Magical based attacks don't need this stat.
Cast time - time to successfully cast a skill.
Delay time - interval time for a skill to be successfully cast again.
Corrections are welcome pa rin. Sana nakatulong ito sa inyo. Hehe...
